One day the rain came at night.
Joyfully the celebrated till dawn,
For the rain freed them from their plight.
Little did they know they were a pawn.
Animals came far and drunk from their petals,
Until there was no more.
Poor Lilies had been used as a kettle.
Their bodies hit the Lake's floor.
She is strong, I am weak.
She is bold, I m shy.
She is funny, I am serious.
She is perfect, I am flawed.
When she walks I follow.
She is me, and I am her,
but we are not one in the same.
For I am lost, and she is found.
When I speak, she is heard.
I'm invisible, while she shines.
I am trapped,
Lost inside.
I looked at her, she looked at me.
She is me, I am her.
But she is found,
and I am lost
When he looked at me.
I felt like I was basking in the light,
His smile seemed to shine on me.
The very tan of his skin,
Warmed up my own.
His hair sat at the top of his head,
In a glorious crown.
And when he looked at me again,
His eyes seemed to say,
Will you come with me?
I took his hand,
And I knew I would follow him anywhere.
I stabbed myself with the words I heard.
It will be as if I never existed.
What a lie.
The voices and I should be enough to see,
What happened to me.
And as if that wasn’t enough,
I have more.
If you look closely enough,
You will see behind the act,
And into the holes that are left,
From what was said to me.
I’m crumbling inside.
And it all started with one lie:
It will be as if I never existed.
You couldn’t erase yourself if you tried.
I shout, I scream, I cry,
but everyone's gone.
No one even bothered to say:
'Goodbye', one last time.
I wave my hands,
just waiting for a sign.
It seems to be that I'm up too high,
for anyone to see.
I watch life go by,
unseen, unheard, untouched,
floating above, left to die,
by those below.
